Reconditioned Straight Stairlifts

As part of my stairlift services, a reconditioned or second hand stairlift can be sourced depending on your type of stairs. All stairlifts supplied by me will come with a 1 warranty and a guaranteed 24 hour call out.


Reconditioned stairlifts are generally not suitable for curved staircases as the rail is designed for the original set of stairs. Re-cutting and bending a rail to suit another staircase can be a dangerous practice. In rare cases, some stairlifts can be moved providing the properties/steps are identical.


Should you purchase or be gifted a stairlift from elsewhere, I can install this providing it is up to standard. As with all purchases, please be buyer aware. I have come across many stairlifts that are highly unsuitable and dangerous for the chosen flight of stairs. Stairlifts may appear easy to install, but there are certain hazards that an inexperienced installer may overlook, such as the length of rail, insufficient/poorly fitted rail brackets/fittings, missing safe edges etc.

As part of upWARDs Lifts stairlift services, we offer a removal service in Cork and Munster for clients who are looking to permanently or temporarily remove a stairlift from their property.

In the event of a permanent removal, clients may receive a fee for their stairlift depending on the make and model of their stairlift and its condition.

I also provide a stairlift removal service for property owners who are looking to complete a new carpet or flooring installation in their home. All stairlifts can be removed and refitted once your new carpet or flooring has been laid.

Housing Adaptation Grant

You may need a stairlift as getting around your house is not as easy as it once was but you are worried about the cost. If this is the case, the Mobility Aid Grants Scheme might be the way to pay for the stairlift services you need.

The Mobility Aids Grant Scheme provides grants for works designed to address mobility problems in the home, such as the purchase and installation of a stairlift. The scheme is primarily for older people, but people with a disability can also apply.
